Hello!

My name is Aneta Takhtamish. I am Circassian from Karachay-Cherkess Republic. I was born in 1980 in Ukraine. My family returned to Cherkessia in early 90s where I lived the best years of my life being so close to everything that an Adigha person would cherish and enjoy.

 I spent my student years in the United States where I enjoyed a close contact with Circassian Diaspora consisting of Adighas originating from mainly Syria, Jordan and Turkey. It was then that learned about their true challenges and pursuits. As a result, I started Adighastory Project in 2001.

Creating this website, I wanted to contribute to bringing different parts of the Circassian World together.
Most of the materials that you can find on this website were translated from Circassian and Russian into English, to help Diaspora Circassians  reconnect with Circassians living in  the N. Caucasus.
Currently I live and study in Germany and hope to keep promoting exchange between Adighas in our countries further.
