Se  si  zamanughom shugho a  si zaman lhap’u shitash      batamal                a zaman lhap’u
(In  my
time,            back then,   at that  precious time  I was trouble-maker, at that precious time.

Se zi  nibzheghuzh  gworo siati         ziuramilh-hazht                 mis wor hwodu, wo.
I    had one     old friend     who couldn’t take care of himself    just like you.. like you.

Ezim si nibzheghuzhim fiz-qamishati        aphwoda gw-qech lepk ishtaqim ziich’
This
my old friend wasn’t married, and     no idea  like that (of that sort)  did he took in his head. (He wasn't even considering to do so)

Zi maxo gworom side qak’we shabi, mipxodu qizzhiama  si nibzheghuzhim, wallegi pazht
One day              he came to my place and said the next thing, this my old friend. I swear that it was true.

“ Wa Amir- Han, zchilem fiz qasha,                    wori wosh’eri se si qasheghwori blach’ash
Wo Amir-Han,   people around are getting married, but as you, know my time to marry has passed. ( it is too late for me to marry)

Quazhami        qapschu    x’wunshawa qidanazhataqim.
In the village, by the way, there were not a single girl left (to chose from), as if cleared out.

At’e          xetxe iapx’w i lhegw ush’aplhar  seupsh’a    si nibzheghuzhim.     "Well, which family's daughter’s traces you looked at (whom are you considering to marry?)”,                       I asked my old friend

Wallegi,     Woz-ha     iapx’wr      hwntuch’a,   awa soschine qii-zaramipasinch’a "Wallegi,  Woz family’s daughter (Girl from Was Family) would be fine, but I am afraid that they will look down

 zchiash’ a si nibzheghuzhim.

", said my old friend .

Se si shha zaqwosh si leqwuit, se silepqim sik’wpshhaqim. Vizhit zizohori, jabaughsh,
I live alone (expression:I have one head, two legs)           I (taking care of) have two bulls.

zi ale   she    zizoh’ori                     ze wewom t’o    qowozh,            qizzhiash.

I am taking care of one donkey, you hit it once it hit  you back twice, he told me.

At’e wumiguzawe jes’ash se a si nibzheghuzhim.     Woz-he ia phum zi wi-ne shif’anach’e

Don’t you worry,     I told    my friend.        If it is the daughter of Woz   which your eye stopped on

f’anech’ f’ach’a       wimiami                          qiphozmishame zghapz’ash.

even if it (stopped) happened only once  I will not be myself if I will not bring her to you.

Nit’e apshugho homish’a h’unut wi      nibzheghuzhim aphoda oh txabze!

Could one then not do such a sacred thing (solve such a problem) for a friend!

Sitmi Nigi dahetsiqu ziqashopash, si ceischhor zishistaghash si buqar qazher ziqarisk’otsh,

Anyway, I dressed up nicely, I put on my Zeizh, put   Buqar qazher on

Iji doqwa una ichaha                      Wozha iaphur qathinu.

And now we are going (we are on our way) to kidnap (to bring) the daughter of Woz family .

A hijebzim I adezhim daghusu watirim testi,      abiche diunatash.  Ewo doqua, ewo dolha.

This girl was with her father  on (?), so we moved in that direction. So we go, so we run.
 (expression)

Duqwoma dilheure she ia qasuk’o banem diqishapshhash (iji diqishapshhash).

Going,     running finally we crept into some thorns,      (yes, crept in).

 Se si thakumezhher qitezubideri siqedauash.

I  opened my ears        and started listening

Allehim sizuher x‘wame zhis’e shabi mowo q’ambug nibabx’azhazhamche a

Let things happen the way Allah wants, I said and (?)

(?) creeping through, creeping slowly through the mud and

just when I stuck my head out, only Allah knows how it happened, but daughter of Woz Family

poured out the dirty water  and did it (poured it )  right on my face, I swear it was true.

Wo diuqwodri diuqwod, diuqwodri diuqwod,        thashepsri siqiyghagwbzhawo

Nomatter what, we are moving on, on and on. I was already mad because of the dirty water
 (poured on me)

“Vimpe” zhowo psha’em sihapch’ash. Abi shughom electrichestvi-melektrichestvi zhihof’e        lhepk shaateqim.

But again  “Vimpe!” and I jumped into mud again. At that time there was nothing like Electricity-melictricity that you all now talk about.

Pshaguzift te. Mowo             zhegum dizdiyhuzhawo zi qaufizich’agho gwore qaslhaghwash.

It was a problem back then. So, when we found ourselves in the shadow     I saw something blackening (dark figure) not afar
 from us.

Allehim, miziqur mirame zhes’a shabi   si zhagwor qasphw’atesh, sitelesh,

Wallahi, this is that girl,      I thought and     grabbed  my “Zhagw”, swooped down at the girl  and

f’asqw’o          shabi         si        shiplh’em qitezdzeri siqalhiatash.

put it on her , then threw her on the top of     my horse       and flew back.

Ewo diqokwo, ewo diqolhe, ewo diqokwo, ewo diqolhe.

Now we are  on our way home, (running going, going running).

Mi daher iamisha shich’e Ziuzghaplhen”,             zhis’e shabi,.

“Let me look at this beauty before she is taken away forever, I thought.

mowo si shaghdiizhim “Brrrrr”, zhis’e shabiqazghauvaash. Ziqezghalhatezhsh,

I said  to my horse “Brrrr”                  and stopped it . Then I jumped off the horse,

mi dahatziqur qeshasheri, mowo I chapsh'itimcha qazubidri.   Q'ikwoz-rizgach’irizhaa

put down this beauty off of the saddle, grabbed two corners of the wrap and ...

k’odeiwo     “Halech’- psalhech’ mugwo zihoqwon, dene mugwo sifhre?”. (zgworom zhiash)
as soon as I wrapped it out (we heard) “Halech’-psalech, where are you taking me??”, (someone said )

Wallegi pazhte.      Deplhiama               ar           fizizht.             Ar x’ijebzim I anezhir rat.

I swear this was the real story. We looked at her better and saw that it was the old lady, (It was) the mother of the girl.

Wallegi pazhte.

Wallehi, this was a true story.

Special Thanks to Ju Ahmet (narrator) and Sinan Ketaw for providing me with this audio file.

It was an attempt to translate this story close to its  source.

However, there some words for which meaning I am still looking for.

If someone find the translation imprecise, you are welcome to let me know and I will make the changest as soon as possible.
